Let's Make it Great in 2008!

Happy New Year, everyone! I know I'm a week late, but hey, I've been busy. I ripped out the carpeting in my room by myself piece by piece with a knife on Saturday so that the lovely hardwood floors underneath would be my new showpiece for 2008. I have to reorganize everything now but the whole ripping out the rug thing was so tiring I didn't get to do what I wanted to do. I could barely just put everything back together the way it was with minor changes! I have too many things...

In jet-setting news, I am flying to Florida for a wedding at the end of January. That should be a fun mini-vacation! I can't wait!

I received my new mineral make-up a couple of days ago. I can't believe I finally caved! I don't really need face make-up because I have lovely skin (if I do say so myself) but when I was in esthetician training my teacher could not emphasize enough how good mineral make-up was for your skin and how everything else was bad. A lot of the girls in class were using it. Some used Bare Minerals and some used other stuff from the mall. I started to notice, then, that drugstore brands started making their own stuff which was of course a third of the price. Well, I ordered the higher-end stuff online but it was on sale. It's called Sheer Cover and it's hawked by Leeza Gibbons, Alyssa Milano and some former America's Next Top Models (WHAT WOULD COVER GIRL SAY???), namely Naima and Yohanna. (The former really needs the coverage as she has bad skin)

Well, I read in a cosmetics blog (see my blogroll) that of all the drugstore mineral make-up offerings, the best is Milani. I'm glad! I've tried Milani Make-up and was satisfied with their lovely shades for darker women. As for Sheer Cover, I got the Tan line. I would love to try their eyeshadows and cream blushers but forget it- I am not rich! I continue to use my regular non-mineral eyeshadow and I still have lots of it but I am using the tips from the DVD and guess what? I'm extremely satisfied with the results! I wore my new look to work today and felt great, as though I were going to a photo shoot. But don't worry- I did not look over-made-up. I mean, it was me but prettier and that's the best make-up can offer.

Yeah, I recently got some pregnancy pictures a few weeks back before I knew I was going to pop so soon. I got a facial and a mineral make-up application. I liked it, it was very natural looking. Your pic doesn't even show that you're wearing make-up which to me is a good sign of make-up.

    Blogs about make-up are boring.
