Baby Showers & Twilight Zone Episodes in Real Life

It was Lucy's Baby Shower on Sunday. I had thought for some reason it was THIS weekend but I was of course wrong. When I re-viewed the e-vite her sister sent me I had to rearrange plans and such and my mom ended up going with me, which I am glad about because she never goes out.

Miss Lucy is surprisingly nimble right now and I was glad to see her. I didn't see Rocio, though, as she was at least four hours late if she showed up at all. She helped me with directions so I am sure she couldn't have gotten lost!

Today I had something really weird happen to me, on an unrelated note. I left the office to go to lunch and when I got to my car, I noticed that the seat was all the way back. I am short so I actually have to have it all the way up. Also, the parking break was up and I never use it unless I'm parked on a hill. I realized this was really bizarre so I called my mom to tell her I was losing my marbles. At this point I not only noticed I was parked in a different place but also that the spills that had made the cupholders sticky just that morning were gone! I got out of the car and the whole car was sparkling clean when that morning when I parked there the car had been filthy! It was at this point that a man came up to me and asked if this was my car. I said Yes. He proceeded to tell me that he was given keys by a gentleman who wished to have his car washed and he took it and washed it only when he gave it back the guy said, "That's not my car." Well, no, it was mine! But this other guy's key opened my car! Later I found out that the car washer is well-known there (I don't usually work at our satellite office) and he indeed washes the cars in the lot of those who ask. It's like $15 but for me, because of a weird mistake, it was free!

Now I have to pay God only knows how much to fix the lock in the ignition! It's busted and every time I stick my key in there and drive someplace, when I get out it takes me half an hour or more to take the key back out! (Well, not every time...but 3 out of 5) Do you think I can get that guy to pay for it???

Yeah, I need a haircut. My little sister is taking me out for one of those pregnancy massages and I want to do a whole makeover thing and take some pregger glamour pics. I just hope they don't feather out my hair and do that make-up thing they do to Asian chicks where they lighten the side of the nose and paint the middle dark so that it looks like I have a bridge or something.

P.S. Get the guy to pay for your car thing. I am surprised that they actually moved your car too. He must know that he messed it up when he was trying to get it started.

    So far it's doing okay.
I saw a "Secret Lives of Women" in which women wanted plastic surgery & it was billed as them wanting it to look more Anglo. But that wasn't all true. One woman was black and she didn't change her nose to look less black- she didn't make it more narrow. And the Native American chick wanted big boobs & got a breast aug. Unfortunately the Asian chick did want eyelid creases. Anyway, one interesting portion of the show featured an Asian make-up artist who tries to get Asian women to accept and love the way they look and she did a nice job on that lady- nothing like adding a bridge or an eyelid crease. But the stupid girl was not convinced and got the surgery anyway. :-(
