Too Tired to Blog About Runway

I hate not being able to blog or read emails. It sucks!

Runway was interesting the last couple of episodes but of course, without my recaps, you wouldn't know that now would you?

First, we will talk about the Feb. 2 episode. In that one, the designers are taken to a flower mart to buy the materials for a "garden party" dress. Suddenly, everyone's in a mad dash to buy stuff that will bend or not wilt. The winner of this very challenging...er...challenge will have imunity for the next one.

There is the usual banter in the sewing room and Chloe is trying to glue tiny leaves which will make up her whole outfit as fast as she can but her race against time seems doomed to failure. Andrae is outside working on HIS Spanish moss dress so Tim Gunn is like, "Where's Andrae?" and this sets Santino off on this weird Tim imitation that involves Tim arguing with Andrae at Red Lobster, where they are having a romantic dinner. It's pretty funny. But what's even better is that Tim gets wind of it and makes Santino do it for him. Apparently, he knows it's all just jest and he is not offended.

At judgment time the judges are wowed by Daniel's dress mostly because it actually has flowers and they are all very upset that the designers all used plants and leaves and everything is so GREEN. (Kermit might be offended) I was a little confused, though, as Chloe had worked her butt off to cover the whole underside of the garment and Santino had even said, "You can't have spaces showing" but Daniel kept the straps white and no one commented on that. In fact, he won!

Well they were impressed by Chloe but did not give her the win, obviously, which I thought sucked. They also loved Kara's dress, which also had flowers and "lots of texture".

But Nick's they hated and Andrae's they said didn't fit and was boring. Santino's they thought was too shiny 'cause he sprayed the leaves so they would not wilt. (Heidi thought that was fine. She was the only one.)

Well, in the end it was Andrae who lost. Too bad, I'd started to really like him though not so much as a designer but as a "character".

Then the following week they were asked to do a total makeover on each other. First, though, Daniel predictibly kept his model and Andrae's had to go home.

To decide who would design for whom, Heidi pulled names out of a hat: Santino would design for Kara; Kara for Santino; Daniel for Chloe; Chloe for Nick; and Nick for Daniel. Off they went to sketch.

Right off the bat, Santino took over for Kara since she was designing for him. In the end it cost him because he spent tons of time on her outfit for him but not much on his outfit for her.

The outfits were all pretty bad but Chloe did make a spiffy suit for Nick with a pinstripe vest that had a pink back. He looked sharp. Oh, yeah- they had to model their own outfits!

Daniel's outfit for Chloe was terrible and not flattering but he had immunity so no big whoop.

Kara's outfit for Santino was cute and very Santino without being so "serious". But Santino's jumpsuit for Kara was falling apart at the seams! So at judging he totally lies about it! He claims it was finished but she got excited jumping around and it ripped. Also, the lie about her jumping around was also big in that he claimed she loved it but the judges thought she looked uncomfortable.

Do you guys even care? Anyway, long story short, Santino was on the chopping block again but lucky for him, Nick's suit for Daniel was badly sewn, and the fabric too "girly" and had no pockets in the trousers which was also girly and he got sent home. Darn! I really liked Nick but I just KNEW Daniel would edge him out. But Chloe, with her suit for Nick, won the challenge. I think that although Kara got a bit of help from Santino she should maybe have won. She hasn't won a challenge yet.

As for me, I'm doing okay. The new job kinda sucks in a way. I mean, I like the people and I like the work but right now, as I am new, I don't have a password for a program that is vital for me to accomplish most of my duties and so right now all I do is file and audit tons of files and close them out. It's very repetitive.

Oh, yeah! Are there any social workers out there who would like to work alongside myself? We're looking!

are they looking for weekend people or the summer? I need a summer gig after I graduate in May, even if it is temporary

Not really. We need social workers and that's about it. I've taken care of the rest.
