Back Home

Well, I'm back home after my excursion to Florida for a good friend's wedding. She picked me up at the Tampa airport on Thursday and we hung out at her parents' house and it was really nice to spend time with this family I've known for so long. Eventually, after my two-hour nap (to try to recover from the red-eye), I soon became part of a large and growing crowd of people who were showing slowly for the wedding, some from Nicaragua. The maid of honor herself came in from there and she was lots of fun. She's bilingual though she lives out there and she came prepared with all kinds of make-up and hair tools for all us girls to use.

That night we hung out with the groom, his brother (the best man), and the bride's two older brothers and sister-in-law, all in the wedding party. I was part of it sort of unofficially as I did a reading for the wedding mass.

We also got to go see the enormous house that the newlyweds will occupy. My dad joined us for this. Friday night we had the rehearsal dinner at a Brazillian restaurant (churrascaria) and I ate quite a bit of meat.

Saturday was the wedding and at the reception I danced my head off. All in all, it was lots of fun
