What You Really Want

Ok, what is going ON here? First Project Runway made us hate Santino in the first few episodes of the show but soon we found ourselves rooting for him. Now, on America's Next Top (ha ha- what a joke!) Model, we first hated Jade because she was arrogant, slightly sad in her views of herself as the "undiscovered supermodel" and a queen bee. Well she is now one of my favorites. I don't see her winning because at 26 she's too old (did I just say that? I feel so shallow!) and she's also very harsh looking in person even though her photographs are pretty. She is constantly compared to a drag queen and Rafael recently said that Jade was his favorite model, except for RuPaul and I said, "RuPaul is better looking." He is! But still, Jade really rocked it last night.

First the models went on what they thought was an interview with a successful hot-shot agent named Dupris but really she was an actress who was there to be totally harsh and tear them down to see if they could take it. Right after the interview they had to take a Polaroid. Could they still rock a picture after being told how flawed their looks are? Well, Jade took the whole thing in stride. When told she had a high forehead she said, "Yes, my features are very prominent." When told she photographed harsh ("like a dude") she said, "That's a plus because it shows I'm versitile." Go Jade! She was the only one who took a good Polaroid. She won THAT challenge.

Later on they had a photoshoot in which they played dolls. Jade was a mannequin and boy did she look like one!

Finally, Tyra Banks did their black-and-white beauty shot but this time she put this vapor stick on their eyes so as to make them tear up. They had to look lovely and distraught. Jade again did great.

Unfortunately, at judging she ended up in the bottom two! How? Well, she messed up because when they showed that crying photo she started to "cry" and say the emotions were real because she's been through a lot. The judges immediately accused her of faking it. Poor Jade. Maybe she did fake it but so what? Supposedly, when they picked Naima, it was because she was "so real" but her personality is as dull as my love life. So give Jade a break!

In the end, Brooke (she of the "so wrong it's right" face) went home. I'm glad Joanie stayed because in the very beginning, she was my favorite though in person she doesn't scream supermodel. She went through a lot in last night's episode as she got a snaggle tooth removed. They literally did a job that takes weeks in two days! She got beautiful porcelain veneers and now she needs to train herself to smile and show those puppies off!
