Give me that old time religion!

I am watching the Military Channel for its special "Nazis: the Occult Conspiracy". The crazy thing is there have been numerous anti-New Age books written in an Evangelical Christian view-point and they all go into the scary links between occult/New Age philosophy and anti-Semitism. But that could have been seen as sensationalist and biased, yet here it is on the Military Channel (and originally the History Channel)! I was oblivious to these links when I was a New Ager myself and I am SURE there are hundreds of innocent and sincere seekers who are in no way anti-Semitic or may even be Jewish! But the point is the hideous lineage is there.

What happened in Germany is that certain crazy occultists actually got into power and indoctrinated the whole nation into its sick philosophy. Once everything was in place and underway according to plan and according to this new religion of Aryan superiority and purity, young women were taught that they must breed young and their bodies belonged to the nation. Nazi soldiers practiced polygamy so that they might breed pure white babies expediently.

Not that I want to get into all that. We all know what happened over there. But the details about the whole philosphy and religion behind it is not as well known. Christianity was quickly replaced by this new religion. The occultists like Hess and Heimlich felt that the myth of Atlantis was actually quite true and that the high priests who escaped the devastation of the flood found refuge in the high mountains of Tibet and that these Tibetans were related to the Aryans. They were convinced these Aryan supermen or demigods could become the future and could be revived simply by breeding purely and eliminating the impure.

So far everything I've mentioned is from the special. But I'm going to share insights from the Christian books.

The Christian authors analyzing the occult and New Age explosion were worried about its anti-semitic and racist roots. Even though most New Age philosophy comes directly from the East and its mystic religions, it has been passed down from other unfortunate sources. One is the writings of a woman who founded the theosophist movement. She didn't hide her views about the Jews needing to be purified and thus having a karmic debt to pay, which explained their horrible fate during the holocaust. The theosophists and other occultists have disguised their religion as "tolerant" but have made it clear that they believe the whole human race must EVOLVE spiritually and the only way is to embrace this New Age worldview and that those who refuse to accept its "truth" (staunch Christians, Jews and Moslems) must be eradicated. Unlike the Nazi "Final Solution", however, which was hideous to say the least, the New Agist way of getting rid of those of us who refuse to evolve (and thus endanger the evolution of the whole human race) is that we must be "banished" to another dimension. Needless to say I have no fears about that actually taking place, but it is still a little disconcerting that this is their belief.

I don't believe in theocracy or having one started in the U.S. Even though some believe that's what Bush is trying to do (and I can't say for sure he isn't), and are threatened by it, I think that the opposite can just as easily take place. I mean, there are numerous people who have espoused on the virtues of a society rid of religion. One such person is the writer of those "Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus" books, as well as John Lennon and now Elton John. Maybe some of their arguments are legitimate as far as how they have felt threatened or targeted because of religion. But to target and threaten believers should be considered just as bad.

Himmler and other Nazis were very moved by Hinduism, which is the cornerstone religion behind New Age beliefs. Although "New Age" is an umbrella term and some writers often contradict each other, their basic teachings are the same, especially the "One-ness" of everything, such as is taught by Hinduism and Buddhism and Taosim. Another is astrology and other furtune-telling devices and a big one is reincarnation, along with karma and spiritual evolution.

But just because the Nazis believed in these things does not automatically negate them. I just find it disturbing that when Hinduism was brought to the West, it was touted as deep truth to replace the old Christian views. But how can it be explained that Hinduism has never worked for India? There was not even any charity in India until Christianity went East because charity was an interference with karmic debt. There was devotion to gurus that here in the freedom-loving West would be seen as cultist (giving yourself completely to a person, even in thought as it is believed they can read minds or control minds).

The occult did not work (thank God!) for the Nazis either. What is weird is the link one Christian writer made between the Biblical account of the flood in Noah's time (which mentions a wicked people but also nearly superhuman, heroic talents) and the people who are revered by occultists/New Agers: the Atlanteans. After all, both peoples were eradicated by a flood. But while occultists think of Atlantis as a place of super-evolved demigods and something to strive for as far as spiritual evolution, the Bible account clearly condems whoever these individuals were. There is also a link between the symbols for Atlantis and a Norse symbol used by Nazis and of course between the Eastern swatsika, which represented good fortune as well as the seasons, and the horrible symbol of hate which sends shudders through anyone opposed to this sick and twisted philosophy of evil.

I find the whole thing incredibly interesting. It remains to be seen whether those who supposedy value "tolerance" will gain an increased power and suddenly obliterate the old faith that threatens them by instituting an acceptable form of INtolerance. Church and state really don't mix, as evidenced by the Roman Empire's embrace of "Christianity" which created the Roman Catholic Church and for many centuries oblitirated all traces of the pure Biblical Christianity begun by Jesus and his apostles. The marriage of church and state also spawned the Nazi warhead, though then the church was that of an occult mix of Hinduism, old Norse mythology and astrology/divination combined to give birth to a blood religion of Aryan superiority.

So no, I don't want a theocracy, even one that supposedly would favor Christianity (I don't consider Bush a real Christian) and I certainly hope the New Agers and others don't get their way! In this Christians and Jews should unite lest we be the latest victims of power-hungry "spiritual" leaders who claim to know what is best for the entire nation or human race.
