More on Wedding Songs

My last post about songs I want to play at my wedding included all popular music. It doesn't really adequetely reflect my taste as I love a lot of unknown underground or indie music. But I don't think that's too appropriate for weddings as most people will just hear this music and be puzzled, unable to participate in the romance. But if they hear "I've had the time of my life" they'll nod in approval.

RV3 mistakenly thinks that song is not a romantic or appropriate wedding song because he thinks it's about the past tense. But I think he's confused- it's not "I had the time of my life" as in, "I'm through with you baby- your money's on the dresser", it's "I've had the time of my life" (these past few weeks since we met) so it's a "let's keep this thing going...forever...type of song.

I forgot that I wanted "Cherish" by Kool & the Gang as well as "Always" by Atlantic Star.

If I do include unknown music, I'd use JRalph's "One Million Miles Away". It's an all-time favorite.

I know the correct words to the song. It's just not a wedding song choice for me.
My wedding song would be, Cole Porter's "Night and Day" sung by Fred Astaire or LL Kool J's "I Need Love."
But I am not the marrying kind...

What about that song that goes, "I believe in miracles, you sexy thing." I would have that one at my wedding.

About the Dirty Dancing song..I remember my junior high had a lunchtime dance (outside) and this other metal dude was there with me and for a moment it seemed we might dance but then it dawned on him this was a...DANCE...and this was a...TOP FORTY POP SONG...and he like backed off, embarassed.
