New Rants
Yes, I removed some recent posts. I'll put them back when you deign to post comments on these few!
I'm really disgusted (more than ever!) by Paris Hilton and her lack of maturity. We have raised a generation of useless self-absorbed brats and I just wish her dad would call her up and tell what a rude, thougthless little pig she is! I mean, someone close to me had to serve FOUR MONTHS in jail for doing what Paris did! (This person had a DUI then drove on the suspended license and got busted. Big time.)
The fires have my allergies in an uproar but I sure am grateful that they are not affecting my home. I drove really close to one yesterday when I had to pick up my sister-in-law out in the boonies and bring her back here (for a baptism class). I took a wrong exit and ended up on a road that would eventually (12 miles later) turn into the street I needed to be on but it was a winding mountain road with a fire raging to my right. I saw fire trucks and helicopters close by but I was never that close or in danger.
I am very saddened by the Kansas tornado tragedies. I have a soft spot in my heart for Kansas, the home town of Superman.
So Billy Ray Cyrus got booted off Dancing with the Stars last night. That was expected: what was NOT expected was that in the bottom 2 they had Joey Fatone (former boybander) and not Ian Zeiring (formerly of 90210). Ian has been flat and stiff throughout but Joey has produced many 10's, even a perfect 30 TWICE. I am not rooting for him- he's Apolo's biggest (male) competition. But fair is fair! What's more is that both RV3 and I have speculated that Ian's partner, the winner of the last 2 competitions, is garnering a lot of votes somehow. While I'm not of the opinion that there's outright cheating going on, it is a little worrisome that this woman is going to win the competion for Ian, who is the real "contestant", while Joey Fatone, Laila Ali, and Apolo Anton Ohno might get unfairly bumped off.
I'm not sure WHY anyone would be a fan of Cheryl Burke's as opposed to any one of the other female professional dance partners like Karina Smirnoff or Apolo's partner Julienne Hoff. She's the least attractive, for one thing. And she's not necessarily the best dancer and Julienne is a better coreographer, the best of the competition. (Laila's partner is the worst. Sorry RV3!) So now we're actually in fear for Apolo's future in the competition. No one really watches speed skating and the winter Olympics is not as popular as the summer games. And though RV3 said, "But who watches women's boxing?" I had to remind him that Laila Ali is not just a women's boxing champion (undefeated), she is the daughter of the most recognizable name in sports worldwide: Muhammed Ali. She's a good dancer too, and will also likely get the African American vote. But Apolo is the best male dancer with the best female partner/coreographer. Still, he might not get a chance to go head-to-head with Ali or even the best contender, Fatone. He might either be booted off too early or go against Ian Ziering in the finals! Preposterous!

(Hi Lucy!!!)
Dancing With the Stars has been a lot of fun this season. Thank you for the recap, Spleengrrl!
Paris Hilton is a big whiny, dilussional brat!!!
The Griffith Park fire has been quite unfortunate. The school I teach in is so close to park. Yesterday, school was in sesssion, but we had a "rainy day schedule" which means the kids had to eat and play inside, because the air quality was bad...
p.s. Please repost the entry you wrote before this one. I haven't found time to read it, but will make the time...

They should lock Paris in jail and throw away the proverbial key. Why should celebrity scum get away with stuff normal people can't?

I agree about Paris Hilton. Also, I'm tired of hearing about her.
