It's a Mad, Mad, Mad World
I can't believe I got sick. It's been a while since I've had to miss work and now I'm all out of sick days- until February! Whatever shall I do???
I started to re-read "The Babyface Killers" which is a very depressing book. Bad enough I read two similarly dark articles on the True Crime Library from Court TV. They were about the murders of innocent children as committed by...other children. Is there anything more appalling to the mind? How can children do such horrible things? One of the cases was about a 12-year-old girl who is dating another girl. The other girl already has a girlfriend who is 14 and is none too pleased about the cheating. So she gets three girls to help her lure the 12-year-old (Shanda) away from her home past midnight and they proceed to turture and kill her, finally setting her on fire while she is still alive.
The other case was about two ten-year-old boys (!!!) who kidnap (this was in England) a toddler and take him on an aimless two-mile trek, all the while he is crying for his mummy and they kick and punch him and drop him on his head. Finally, they take him to a secluded area and stone him to death. Then they set his body on a railroad track where it is severed in half by a train. These guys are free now and in their twenties. They should be in prison! So what if they were ten? Obviously something went horribly wrong and they are sociopathic murderers.
The book itself examines such cases, especially school shootings like Columbine. These kids turn my mind inside out as I have no idea what to make of them. If I didn't have faith I think I'd kill myself. This world is horribly dark and sick.
