Scared to Death
I'm a little scared because I just purchased some CDs at Amazon.com. Now, I've done that several times- bought books and CDs from them- but now you can use your checking account number in lieu of a credit card (for people like me who don't have one). Unfortunately, even though I now have 2 bank accounts and I got the second account solely for the reason that the bank I've used for 4 years now never gave me a debit/check card with a Visa or MasterCard logo and I wanted one, I used this new feature because my primary account has more money and I was able to make the purchases I wanted ($57-worth) without worrying about going into the negatives (the second account had $100 but I've been going out to eat lately and using it to pay). What scares me is that I was asked for my DL number and now I'm scared my identity will be stolen! What if it is? Could I survive that? My credit is good right now- above average- but I have some debt I'm currently working on. I'm totally scared of having some freak steal my identity and ruining my life just because I really wanted some cheap used CDs.
What do you guys think? Did I just commit a big blunder?
By the way, in case you're wondering, I bought a CD by Royksopp, one by Lovetron, one by Francine, one by the Waterlillies, and I also bought the Om Lounge Volumes 4 and 10 and the Freestyle Greatest Hits (bring on "One Way Love"!)
PS, Lucy I know I owe you money and don't worry I'm going to mail it all to you but if my id is stolen, will you cancel my debt? (Or just charge whoever stole it)

On a totally unrelated topic, Top Model is down to the Final Three! It's between superwitch Jade ("the undiscovered supermodel"), super-improved (formerly snaggletoothed) blondlicious Joanie, and gap-toothed, Southern-talkin' ("shut yo mouth and say it ain't so!") Danielle. Even though a blonde has never won (which gives Joanie a real chance), the last winner was white so maybe they need a black winner, since there hasn't been one since Eva the Diva. BUT....even though two cycles ago the winner was of mixed races, therefore maybe cutting Jade's chances down, Jade at least is good at being a model. But I see Tyra leaning heavily toward Joanie (calling her "modely" at judging this week) and we all know that Tyra's vote is the only one that matters.

I inquired about a used car through a craigslist and I think the seller tried to scam me. Instead of letting me know I could come see the car, he wrote:
If you want to buy it I will need your full name and address for the delivery.I want to inform you that after you give me these information I will delivery the package through Fedex.When the shipping will start I will give you a copy scaned I received from Fedex to see that the delivery for the car to you.Immediately i will send you this, you must send me a down payment. If in 3 hours you don't send me the money I can stop the process of delivery for the case you are not a serious buyer . In 5 hours the shipping starts the delivery can't be stoped anymore. When the car will arrive to your place, you will send me the rest amount, If you don't like the car or is something wrong with it you send it back to me and I pay you back the money. I hope to finish this deal.
