Ju Dou Done Wrong
Sadly, as one reviewer for Netflix pointed out (just a regular joe viewer like me, not a real critic), the movie Ju Dou was pathetically transferred from film to DVD and this film, which was praised for "sumptous cinematography" and "exquisite use of color" looked like an old silent film with nearly sepia tones. WHAT HAPPENED? I am sure I missed out on a lot. I'm sure, also, that RV3 saw it in theaters and got the full effect. Without these elements, I'm afraid the movie is just drama. So I only gave it 4 stars but it probably deserved better....

I liked it I was just hoping I could have watched it the way it was meant to be viewed....I can just picture, having seen "Curse of the Golden Flower" which was the brightest bunch of eye candy I'd ever seen in cinema!
